Service Description

KS3 (SATs) is the first part of Secondary Education in the UK.

Students of 12 to 15 years old - school years 7 to 9.

Our KS3 English Guided Writing for Years 7 to 9 is the perfect support your child needs to improve and further their understanding of the national curriculum. Our aim is to focus on the writing element of the English curriculum which will help them write accurately, fluently, effectively and at length, for a range of purposes and audiences, including:

• Essays
• Stories, scripts, poetry and other imaginative writing
• Notes and scripts for talks and presentations
• A range of other texts, including arguments, and personal and formal letters

They will learn to summarise and organise their content and apply their growing knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and text structure to their writing. We will also help them plan, draft, edit and proof-read their work, considering how their writing reflects its intended audience and purpose, amending their vocabulary, grammar and structure to improve their writing, and paying close attention to accurate spelling and punctuation. Through this, we also hope to develop their love of literature and push them to read and enjoy across a wide range of styles and genres. Students will be required to do two pieces of writing a month.
